Private Pilot

The private pilot rating is your first step into the wonderful and exciting environment of helicopters. As a Private Pilot, you may conduct personal business and pleasure flights with friends and family. The minimum time required to obtain a private pilot rating is 40 hours of flight time with a minimum of 30 hours in a helicopter. These are the basic FAA minimums, and depend upon several factors such as the frequency of classes, and the individual's ability. Training will require additional time above the minimum. The average cost is $11,000 to $16,000.
